The Mátyás Pince Restaurant is famous for its traditional
Hungarian flavours accompanied by the finest wines of the
country and Gypsy music performed by members of the
Lakatos dynasty. Waiters and waitresses are dressed in
period costume.Beautiful stained glass windows and frescoes,
the work of artists Jenő Haranghy and Gyula Bozó, recount scenes
from the life of King Matthias. The air-conditioned function rooms
of the Restaurant provide an excellent setting for special meals,
family and business luncheons, meetings.

FACILITIES GENERAL INFORMATION

Mátyás Pince Restaurant was founded at the foot of Elisabeth
Bridge on the Pest side in 1904 and was named after the great
Hungarian Renaissance ruler Mátyás. It is just a few steps from
the nearest metro line, and adjacent to the city centre’s main
parking area for tour-buses.
